Global Guardian was approached by a client to enhance and modernize their Global Security Operations Center (GSOC). The client sought to upgrade their current GSOC with an experienced provider, one which could provide and handle 24/7 surveillance and monitoring of cameras at multiple facilities, provide access control at doors, and respond to triggered alarms.

The client already utilized Global Guardian for its duty of care services, to mitigate any travel-related issues or threats to their employees. These services, managed through Global Guardian's operations center in McLean, included travel security, medical, and emergency response support. 

When it came time to overhaul its internal GSOC capabilities, Global Guardian was a clear choice due to its network depth and personnel with extensive security backgrounds committed to finding solutions when presented with a challenge.

Mission and Response

Global Guardian's mission was to establish a state-of-the-art GSOC for the client, ensuring seamless integration with their existing infrastructure and providing advanced security monitoring and response capabilities. This would allow the client’s internal team to regain the bandwidth to focus on other core responsibilities.

The setup process involved several key steps:

1. Assessment and Planning: Global Guardian assessed the client's existing GSOC setup and identified critical gaps. This included outdated equipment, lack of integration, and less-experienced operators.

2. Setup and Coordination: A dedicated GSOC for the client was set up in Charlotte, North Carolina, adjacent to one of Global Guardian's main GSOCs. This location was chosen to leverage Global Guardian's existing resources and infrastructure. The setup required procuring new equipment such as TVs, computers, and desks, and integrating the client's systems into a single monitoring system.

3. Staffing and Training: Global Guardian has operators from its vast network of professionals with former military, federal law enforcement, or intelligence backgrounds. These operators underwent specialized training to familiarize themselves with the client's security needs, systems, and tailored standard operating procedures. Additionally, Global Guardian's operators visited the client's original GSOC to understand their specific requirements and operational challenges.

4. Integration and Connectivity: The GSOC was integrated with the client's computer and phone networks to facilitate seamless communication and alerts. This integration enabled tasks such as remote access control and after-hours call handling, significantly enhancing the client's security capabilities.
