In a recent mission, our team successfully evacuated a client and their family from Lebanon amid the escalating conflict between Israel and Hezbollah. In July 2024, tensions between Israel and Hezbollah escalated to critical levels, teetering on the edge of a full-scale war. Hezbollah launched rocket attacks deep into Israeli territory, prompting Israel to respond with precision strikes, including the assassination of several senior Hezbollah leaders, notably a top commander in southern Beirut.

The U.S. State Department issued a Level 4 Travel Advisory for Lebanon, urging citizens to avoid travel to the country and advising those in southern Lebanon to leave immediately. Other nations followed suit, warning their citizens to leave Lebanon and avoid non-essential travel to the Middle East. In response to the escalating violence, major airlines suspended flights to the region, anticipating further attacks.

During this unfolding crisis, Global Guardian received an urgent call from a client seeking to evacuate an employee and their family from Lebanon within 48 hours.

MISSION AND RESPONSE

Global Guardian promptly responded to the client’s call, immediately coordinating evacuation options and gathering the necessary travel details from the employee and their family, including visa information.

With many Western airlines canceling flights out of Lebanon and the greater area, our 24/7 Operations Center worked against a tight deadline and limited transportation options. Additionally, our team had to navigate challenges due to the restrictions posed by the family’s travel visas.

Despite these obstacles, our team successfully secured commercial air travel for the family out of Beirut. Leveraging our on-the-ground teams' local expertise, connections, and resources, Global Guardian arranged for a vehicle and a security-trained driver on short notice. The driver transported the family safely from their location to the Beirut airport and remained with them until they boarded their flight. Just over 24 hours after receiving the client’s call, the family safely departed Lebanon for their desired destination.
