INCIDENT: Shattered Kneecap in Brazilian Back Country
LOCATION: Anápolis, Brazil
SERVICE: Air Ambulance Medical Evacuation
SITUATION: A member slipped and shattered her kneecap while traveling in a remote region of Brazil. Adding to the severity of the situation, the member had suffered a heart attack three years earlier. Because of the language barrier, she was having trouble communicating with doctors about the danger of taking the wrong medicine. The husband of the injured member then contacted Global Guardian for medical support.
RESPONSE: Within six hours of contact, Global Guardian had obtained the necessary visas, clearances and permits in order to dispatch the jet and medical team. Global Guardian transported the member and her husband back to their local hospital in Boulder Colorado, where she underwent successful surgery and a comfortable recovery at home.
